It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to Padmashri Annasaheb Jadhav Bharatiya Samaj Unnati Mandal’s, Ambikabai Jadhav Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Vajreshwari, Tal. Bhiwandi, Dist. Thane. The Padmashri Annasaheb Jadhav Bharatiya Samaj Unnati Mandal’s was conceived by Hon’ble Padmashree Annnsaheb Jadhav in 1986. This Institute is a constituent unit of PAJBSU Mandal which has a strong historical background. The institute was established in 1986 with the sole purpose to impart the high quality education to women in tribal region. Today, at A. J. Mahila Mahavidyalaya which is one of the prime institutes in PAJBSU Mandal’s family is offering education to the largest number of girl students in the entire tribal zone of Thane district. We are continuing the colossal task of social reforms through women’s education as initiated by Hon’ble Padmashree Annnsaheb Jadhav, especially for tribal girls. The A. J. Mahila Mahavidyalaya tries to maintain the high standards set by him, follow the rich traditions, emulate his principles and thrive on his ethos and philosophy. Today our work in education for tribal girls reaches to people all over the country and the world. Our student community extends far beyond the institute campus, with sizable alumni around the globe. Women are a great human resource and the role of women in the society is critical for development of a nation.
The institute has permanent affiliation to SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. It has a distinctive vision and mission and history that makes it different from the other educational institutes. The interests of stake holders, namely girls students, parents and above all from tribal communities will always remain our top priority. The Institute strives to develop every individual to her best potential by providing all facilities. Here, in A. J. Mahila Mahavidyalaya, we are imparting skills and knowledge to our girls students in best possible way to make them
employable and allow them to dream big and help them to grab the same. The Alumni of the institute have done exceedingly well in all spheres of life across the globe. Apart from academic activities, the institute has a tradition of excelling in sports and extracurricular activities, adventure, cultural and social- service activities, in which our girl students continue to bring us laurels at the university, zonal and national levels year after year.
Every year different programs like workshops, conferences, and sports. are organized which provide a strong platform for many participants from all over nation to display their talent and skills. The success of the institute in all spheres is the combined product of all our little efforts. I assure you all that our team of dedicated and highly qualified, dynamic and multi-talented faculty, non teaching staff are totally committed to produce good human resource of a very high caliber to meet the growing and ever changing demands of society and our girls students will serve our society with their proficiency. We have to continue to move ahead for producing and maintaining the best.
In near future we are applying for accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), UGC New Delhi and planning to be associated with various professional organizations to enhance the skill of our girls’ students.
